Artikle.ai is a UK-based SaaS platform providing AI-powered content strategy, writing, and publishing services. When we refer to “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy, we mean Artikle.ai Ltd.

2. What data we collect

Account data

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), company name, and billing address.

Payment data

Payments are processed via Stripe. We do not store your full card number. We receive and store limited billing information such as the last four digits, card brand, and expiry date for display purposes.

Website data

When you connect your site, we crawl publicly accessible pages to build your business profile. This includes page titles, meta data, headings, body content, internal links, and schema markup. We do not access password-protected or private pages.

Content data

This includes strategies, article briefs, articles, publishing schedules, and editorial settings you create within the platform.

Analytics data

If you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4, we access performance data for your connected properties via OAuth. We do not store your Google credentials.

CMS credentials

API keys or OAuth tokens for connected CMS platforms (WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Shopify, Sanity, Contentful). These are stored encrypted.

Usage data

How you interact with the platform — pages visited, features used, articles generated, and publishing activity.

Technical data

IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and referring URL.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the service: analysing your site, generating strategies, writing articles, and publishing to your CMS.
  • To improve the platform: understanding usage patterns to improve features and user experience.
  • To communicate with you: account notifications, product updates, and support responses.
  • To process payments: billing, invoicing, and subscription management.
  • To comply with legal obligations: tax records, fraud prevention, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contract: processing necessary to deliver the service you signed up for (account management, content generation, publishing).
  • Legitimate interest: analytics, security monitoring, and platform improvement.
  • Consent: marketing communications (opt-in only). You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: tax records, fraud prevention, and compliance with applicable law.

5. Who we share data with

  • Stripe — to process your subscription payments.
  • Vercel (frontend hosting), Supabase (database and authentication), Railway (background workers), and Cloudflare (image storage and CDN) — to host and deliver the platform.
  • Anthropic — article content is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for generation. Google — image prompts are sent to Google’s Gemini API for image generation. Your content is not used to train their models.
  • CMS platforms you connect to — publishing data only, sent at your direction when you approve an article.
  • PostHog — for product analytics, only if you opt in to analytics cookies.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data retention

  • Account data: retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Website crawl data: retained while your account is active. Re-crawled periodically. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Generated content: retained while your account is active. You can delete individual articles or strategies at any time. All content deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by UK tax law.
  • Usage and technical data: retained for 12 months in anonymised form.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Data security

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • CMS API keys and OAuth tokens are stored encrypted.
  • Access controls and authentication are enforced on all internal systems.
  • We conduct regular security reviews.

No system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a potential security issue, please contact us immediately.

9. International data transfers

Your data may be processed outside the UK/EEA by our infrastructure and AI providers. Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards approved by the UK Information Commissioner.

10. Children’s data

Artikle.ai is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
